Marianne Sison

Dr. Marianne D. Sison is a senior public relations and communication academic leader at RMIT University’s School of Media and Communication. A Fellow of the Public Relations Institute of Australia, Marianne has studied and worked in communication in the Philippines, the USA and Australia.  

As former Deputy Dean (International), Marianne provided strategic leadership in international education for the School and has delivered invited lectures in Canada, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Spain, Thailand, the Philippines, the US, and Vietnam.

Her research interests include diversity and inclusion, global public relations, cultural and organizational values, corporate social responsibility, public relations education and international communication. She has published numerous journal articles and book chapters, and recently published a co-authored book,  “Corporate Social Responsibility, Public Relations and Community Engagement: Emerging Perspectives from South East Asia” with Routledge (2018). 

She was also the Australian lead in a nine-country research project, “A Global Capability Framework for the Public Relations and Communication Management Profession”.

Marianne is convenor and founding chair of the Asia Pacific Public Relations Research and Education Network.
