Emma’s diverse experience spans marketing, communications and events across the creative, tech and startup industries. Helping startups and entrepreneurs of all walks flourish is a big passion of Emma’s and she’s constantly on the pulse of what makes the startup ecosystem tick.

Emma was the Marketing Lead at General Assembly for several years, building the the brand and growing it’s audience from zero to over 50,000 people in Melbourne through hundreds of high profile events, classes, workshops and hackathons.

Encouraging women in business to rise to the fore enabled Emma to help launch global non-profit Girls in Tech into Australia in 2016. She is currently on the Pause festival programming committee, Australia’s premier 3-day creative, tech and business event, and has recently been part of the team at Inspire9, Melbourne’s original co-working space for startups, freelancers and entrepreneurs. Emma also helps nurture and grow the local CreativeMornings chapter – a global monthly breakfast event series for creatives. She keeps herself busy!

Currently posted at the City of Melbourne, Emma is leading an Open Innovation Competition to help make Melbourne a more accessible city for people with disabilities and is delivering a range of startup programming for Melbourne Knowledge week 2018.
