Emiliano Zucchi

Emiliano manages the Transcultural & Language Services (TALS) department and the Aboriginal Support Unit (ASU) at Northern Health; he has extensive experience developing policy and implementing services in the health context. Emiliano is  responsible for Northern Health’s Cultural Responsiveness and Reconciliation Action plans, as well as contributing to the Disability Action Plan.  

Prior to working in Health, Emiliano has 10 years’ experience as a university lecturer, and holds the position of Adjunct Industry Fellow in Translation & Interpreting Studies at Monash University. He has published widely on the impact of cultural competence, and presented over 30 conference papers nationally and internationally. 

Emiliano has also contributed to a number of successful externally funded projects in collaboration with Donate Life, the National Ageing Research Institute (NARI), and the Australasian College of Emergency Medicine (ACEM). 

Emiliano currently sits on the Polaron Advisory Board, and chairs the Ethnic Communities Councils of Victoria Health Policy Committee.
