Rachel Carruthers is the Head of Internationalisation and Localization at Canva, an online visual communications and publishing tool which makes graphic design simple for everyone.
At Canva, Rachel leads the Global Services group, which is responsible for ensuring that every user has a design experience that feels truly local. Along with localising Canva’s web and mobile app platforms, she and her team ensure there is a variety of region-specific content for Canva’s design community, ensuring designs and fonts that are relevant and fitting for each market.
The part she enjoys most about her role is leading cross-functional globalisation initiatives to support Canva’s long term international growth, and operationalising market insights into actionable growth experiments. Prior moving to Sydney, Australia to pursue her Masters Degree in digital media, Rachel was working as a Senior Localisation Project Manager back home in Silicon Valley, servicing high-profile tech enterprise clients.
